College Football Rankings

With College Football just a week away, I want to break down what I think will be the finishing top 25. After bowl season, this is what I think the top 25 will be.

Sadly enough, my pick for the National Champion is Ohio State. Given they have more than 10 of the top 50 prospects this year gives them a huge advantage coming into this season.

My pick for the #2 team is Alabama Crimson Tide. They just have such a good prestige to there school, and with coach Nick Saban, they will definitely be one of the best teams.

My pick for the #3 team is the TCU Horned Frogs. There loaded with talent, and could easily be in the National Championship. It ultimately came down to who had the better coach between them and Alabama, and Nick Saban wins that contest. But this will still be a very exiting team.

My pick for the #4 overall team is the Baylor Bears. Last year may have been the best year they've ever had, but I'm not sure if I can see them being better than that.

My pick for the #5 overall team is the Michigan State Spartans. I just see a lot in there coaching and I think there quarterback is going to be good. And for the record, there my pick for #1 overall team for basketball and football combined.

My pick for the #6 overall team is the Auburn Tigers. There kind of all around decent, but I just love the ability they have in there quarterback position, and that gives me the confidence to rank them so high.

My pick for the #7 overall rated team is the Florida State Seminoles. There not going to be as good as last year due to Jameis Winston's departure, but with the team built around him should still give the Seminoles a high powered team.

My pick for the #8 football team is the USC Trojans. This team has a lot of younger guys (Freshmen and Sophmores) that still have a lot to prove. I think this team will be a top team in years to come, but for now, there only top ten, which is still a very good status.

My pick for the #9 team is the Georgia Bulldogs. I know I ranked this team pretty high, but there's always a team in the top ten that wasn't expected to be, and I believe Georgia will be that team this year.

My pick for the #10 team is the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. I think this team will have an excellent record, but it is insanely hard to be ranked higher than #10 when your independent. Find this team a good conference, and their rankings will go higher.

My pick for the #11 team is the Oregon Ducks. I know they are ranked much lower than what most people think, but I just don't see the same promise in this team as I did last year. Let's be honest, any team that loses the heisman to the NFL is going to not do as good the next year.
My pick for the #12 team in the rankings is the Clemson Tigers. This incoming recruiting class is magnificent, and with time, this will be a top team. Be patient Clemson fans.

My pick for the #13 overall team is the UCLA Bruins. Sure, they had quite a difficult year comparing to there expectations, but they didn't lose many guys, and now they can look to become a well oiled machine in this season.

My pick for the #14 college football team is the LSU Tigers. Regardless if I am right or not, this team WILL have a good basketball team, and will have good chances at being the best overall team (basketball AND football).

My pick for the #15 team is the Ole Miss Rebels. There defense is a little in the past, but I still think they'll have one of the best defenses this season.

My pick for the #16 team in the rankings is the Arizona State Sun Devils. Sure there not the most consistent team, but when your in the pac-12, you can afford a couple losses and still get placed where they are.

My pick for the #17 team is the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets. This is a school with not a lot of history when it comes to football, but they look REALLY good this year, and I could see them getting a pretty good bowl game.

My pick for the #18 team is the Wisconsin Badgers. This year is going to be nothing close to some of there past seasons, and many think they may not even be ranked. While I do struggle to see them get higher than this, they still will be pretty good.

My pick for the #19 team is the Oklahoma Sooners. I have to say though, it wouldn't be surprising if they finish higher in the rankings. I put them here because I don't love there defensive production, but if they do finish higher, I won't be surprised.

My last team to make the top 20 teams, coming in at #20, is the Arkansas Razorbacks. There defense is stellar, maybe even in the top 5. But there offense needs to pick it up, and until they do, I'm putting them at #20.

Coming in at the magical #21, I have the Arizona Wildcats. They had an excellent season last year, but I can't see them repeating that. Especially in the pac-12.

At #22, I have the Tennessee Volunteers. When I saw the preseason polls, I was shocked this team wasn't at least in the rankings. In my mind, there is no doubt they will prove critics wrong this year.

My pick for the #23 college football team is the Texas A&M Aggies. Ever since the Aggies lost Johnny Manziel, they've struggled. I do believe they have one last  push in them before they hit rock bottom though.

My pick for the #24 overall team is the Florida Gators. They are okay in just about every position, but I have excellent faith that there running back will carry them to the finish line and get them into the rankings.

And finally, in the #25 position, I have the Virginia Tech Hokies. This was a tough one. I was choosing between them, Utah, Missouri, Boise State, and Stanford. But I think Virginia Tech will win out because they chose a good schedule with tough games, but winnable games. That should help them be better than those other teams.

If you want to discuss the teams I chose, comment your thoughts.
